Sir Gabrial breaks maiden with comfortable success

Juvenile follows on from Playupskyblues and Kodi Noir victories

Sir Gabrial became another two-year-old winner for Havana Grey at Newcastle on Friday night, and did so in a manner that suggests there should be plenty more to come. He’s always shown good ability at home, working well with some nice winners, and he became one himself in pretty taking fashion considering the lack of a gallop that can sometimes define races at Gosforth Park.

The way he shaped suggested the stronger the pace the further he’d have won, and, in a typically cliched way, he’s now one to really look forward to for next year! We’re very pleased for owner Justin Byrne who’s a real supporter of ours and hopefully has a really nice type on his hands.

The BillyB Syndicate are relative newcomers to the yard having bought Kodi Noir recently, and they were rewarded for their investment when Kodi won for them at Chelmsford at the end of last month. He did incredibly well to win from his position, the gap opening at just the right time for him but still requiring a fair effort to go through it and pick up the leaders who’d looked away and gone. It was great that so many of the syndicate were on course to experience it and we’d be confident there will be more success to come!

Playupskyblues is developing a nicely consistent profile in the second half of the season and he deserved his third career success up at Newcastle. He’s a very talented individual who has now won a couple of really competitive handicaps, with this most recent one very likely to have winners come out of it considering the profiles of the 2nd and 3rd. He barely went up in the weights at all and there’s no reason why he can’t be at least as competitive when he returns to the track in the new year. Congratulations to his owner Gary Allsopp and here’s to plenty more to come!
