Listed success for Ziggy’s Dream

Having had the Listed Premio Nogara in mind for a couple of months we were delighted that Ziggy’s Dream could comfortably secure the prize in the Italian sunshine.

One of two runners in the race for ourselves and her owners Middleham Park, Ziggy travelled through the race as powerfully as we’d hoped from one stepping up a furlong before picking up smartly to win going away under first-time partner Marco Ghiani. She’s has always hinted at being capable of a performance like this having been an unlucky 2nd in a Lily Agnes and 4th last time in the Listed Chelmer over six, and although not the strongest Listed race in the world it’s fantastic to get her that winning black type. A race like the G3 Brownstown Stakes for fillies at Leopardstown in July could be on the cards for her.

Our other runner Lexington Belle was the one we’d always intended to be our representative in this race and she was just below-par on the day, the new tactics perhaps not seeing her in the best possible light. She picked up black type when placed in France as a two-year-old and the aim with her remains to replicate that achievement as a three-year-old.
