International Runners

‘Have passport, will travel’ seems to be the motto for Alice Haynes, who in her first two years of training has had considerable success with her international runners.

With a shrewd knowledge of the international Conditions books, she targeted her small string at races in Dubai, Ireland and France and earned Pattern race success in the process.

Alice had her first international runner at the Dubai World Cup Carnival at Meydan Racecourse in January 2022, when Mr Professor lined up in the Jumeirah Classic Trial.

The handsome son of Profitable had previously won three of his five starts for Alice, wrapping up his 2021 campaign with a gutsy win in the Listed Tankard Stakes at Pontefract in October – a first Black Type win for Alice in her first year of training.

Owned by Amo Racing, Mr Professor was the top-rated of the eight-runner field. He ran mid-division through the race and was just edged in the final furlong to finish third beaten 1 ¾ lengths.

Mr Professor had two more starts in Dubai, finishing fifth and was runner up in the Listed Jumeirah Classic over a mile to Godolphin’s Sovereign Prince.

Stablemate, Freyabella also had three starts at the Dubai track, but didn’t reach her potential there.

Lady Hollywood made it a successful first trip to Ireland for Alice Haynes when running out a clear winner of the Listed Marwell Stakes at Naas Racecourse, in Ireland in MONTH

Coming off a pair of Novice wins at Lingfield and Beverley, the daughter of Havana Grey showed a great attitude and ability to keep the favourite at bay and land the first Listed winner of the year for Alice by a length and a half.

Lady Hollywood continued her travels in September, when romping home to win the Group 3 Prix d’Arenberg at ParisLongchamp in the hands of French jockey, Mickael Barzalona

With her sights firmly set on more international travel, we are likely to see Lady Hollywood jet off to Keeneland for a raid on the Breeders’ Cup World Championship in November.
